“The Fine Print is a regular feature that highlights worthwhile titles from lesser-known authors and small, independent presses.”
That quotation says it all. The nature of published poetry is such that it’s usually only the stellar names and heavyweight publishing houses get to be featured regularly in the press. So it’s heartening to see that a paper like The New York Daily news is trying to redress the balance.
This time round, it highlights Mark Leidner’s collection of poems, “Beauty Was The Case That They Gave Me.” Check out his funny poem ‘Basketball’. Not least because it uses the intriguing term ‘the recumbent liar’.
